Eden Hill Farm est. 1749
In 1748, Nicholas Greenberry Ridgley bought 230 acres of land just west of the government buildings that formed the core of the town of Dover. He built what was referred to at the time as a brick mansion, for himself and his third wife. One of the characteristics of Eden Hill was the road leading to the house, Cedar Lane. It was a tree lined entrance leading from end of Water Street to the front steps of the home.
